Career Counselling
Career changes can be extremely stressful. What we “do” for work is often intertwined with who we are as people, and when that identity is interrupted or lost because of changes of career, layoffs, retirement and more, it can feel like we lose a part of us.
Because of that, career counselling isn’t solely focused on résumés and job searches, it explores identity, values, and the deeper question of what a meaningful or purposeful life looks like for you. My approach blends Person-Centred therapy with existential and ACT-informed exploration, creating a space where you can clarify what matters, sit with uncertainty, and choose direction with intention rather than fear. We slow down the noise long enough to hear your own voice, uncover what gives meaning, and notice where old narratives or self-doubt have narrowed your options.
Together, let’s look at transition not as failure or random upheaval but as an opening: a chance to define or redefine your purpose, align work with who you are becoming, and cultivate psychological flexibility when the path feels unclear. The work may include supporting you to examine your values, the stories you’ve inherited, the pressures you carry, and lean into a more authentic version of you. Rather than forcing you toward a prescribed goal, let’s co-create a plan that truly fits for you, supporting you to find career direction that aligns with what you care about, aligns with your wellbeing, and honours the life you want to live.
